As a marketing consultant who thrives on helping local businesses reach their full potential, I’m excited to share our recent collaboration with Doggy Day Care LLC, a pet care facility with tremendous heart but facing significant growth challenges.
The Situation
When Doggy Day Care LLC approached me, they were at a critical juncture. Despite offering quality services and genuinely caring for their four-legged clients, they had experienced staffing issues that unfortunately led to customer attrition. They needed a fresh approach to rebuild trust in their community and attract new pet parents to their facility.
My Approach
After a thorough assessment of their market position and brand perception, I developed a multi-faceted strategy focusing on two key areas:
1. Brand Refresh
First, I tackled their visual identity. Their existing logo had served them well, but it lacked the modern appeal necessary to compete in today’s market. We redesigned their logo with simplicity and memorability in mind, creating a clean, contemporary mark that still conveyed the warmth and playfulness essential to their brand. The new design maintains brand recognition while presenting a more professional image to potential customers.
2. Targeted Digital Advertising
With the refreshed brand in place, I launched a hyper-local digital advertising campaign on Meta platforms. Rather than casting a wide net, we developed precision-targeted ads aimed specifically at:
- Pet owners within their service area
- People actively searching for dog day care services
- Individuals displaying interests and behaviors consistent with needing pet care services
Each ad was crafted to emphasize their unique selling points while driving direct calls to the business, making it easy for interested customers to immediately connect.
Early Results
While it’s still early in our campaign, we’re already seeing promising indicators. The phone is ringing significantly more often, with the majority of calls coming from qualified leads asking detailed questions about services and pricing. This suggests our targeting strategy is effectively reaching pet owners with genuine interest and immediate needs.
Looking Forward
This case exemplifies what I love most about marketing—helping good businesses with real value to offer find their audience and thrive. Sometimes all a struggling local business needs is the right messaging in front of the right people at the right time.
I’ll be sharing more updates as our campaign progresses, but this early success reinforces a principle I’ve always believed in: precise targeting almost always outperforms broader approaches, especially for local service businesses.
What local businesses in your area could benefit from a similar approach?
Very good
